Car Seat Safety Program

Is Your Child Safe?

Durham County residents can attend a car seat information session to learn the proper use of car seats and the North Carolina law regarding safety seats. Eligible parents may purchase a discounted infant/toddler or booster car seat (based upon income: $10, $25, or $45). Participants may purchase additional car seats for $45.

English & Spanish Classes:
1st and 3rd Sat. of each monthEnglish: 9-11:30 AM
Spanish: 12-2:30 PM
3rd Monday alternate months, per language6-8 PM

Pre-registration is needed. Classes are held at Welcome Baby, in the Durham County Cooperative Extension Building: 721 Foster St. (near the corner of Foster and Trinity). Call 560-7150.

If you already own a car seat and have questions about its installation or correct use, you may also attend the WB class, or, call the Durham EMS at 560-8287 ext. 214 to find out about community car seat clinics or to schedule an appointment to have your child's car seat checked at their office.
